Kids need Dads

As a father who is working hard to be a good dad and not always doing too well I was interested in this post regarding the evidence that kids need dad's to be very available in the early years. A lot of people know this anecdotally but it's good to see some hard evidence.

I do find it amazing how society has denigrated the role of father. This is good information. With my first three we had little or no money when they were young, and I was able to spend a lot of time with them. With our fourth, who came along quite a bit later, I was quite busy 'making a living' in his early years. It's interesting, and at times disconcerting, to note the differences between the first three and our fourth. Not that God's grace can't help reverse some of the inequities.

I agree and appreciate the fact that God's grace can reverse and redeem our human frailty. Not that it lets us off the hook but I am so glad that God is fathering with me.
